Blog Kick-off - Chocolate Giveaway!

I thought it would be fun to officially launch A Gentler World with a giveaway, and what fair trade item could be better to win than chocolate? :-)

The winner of the contest will receive the following five delicious, full-sized, vegan, fair trade chocolate bars:
  • one Sjaak's Organic Dark Chocolate with Creamy Caramel bar (1.75 oz.)
  • one Theo Organic Spicy Chile Dark Chocolate bar (3 oz.)
  • one one Equal Exchange Organic Dark Chocolate with Almonds bar (3.5 oz.)
  • one Divine 70% Dark Chocolate with Raspberries bar (3.5 oz.)
  • one Green & Black's Organic Maya Gold bar (3.5 oz., and my personal favorite).
Each participant can enter up to five times. Each entry should be registered as a separate comment on this post, and each individual entry must meet one of the following requirements:
  • You can earn one entry simply by leaving a comment here. Tell me your favorite fair trade chocolate, recipe, or anything else you care to share on the topic. Please be sure to provide your email address so I can contact you if you win!
  • You can earn another entry by clicking 'like' on my Facebook page.
  • You can earn another entry by sharing this contest on your Twitter account; to register this entry, please post a link to your Twitter account in a comment here.
  • You can earn another entry by sharing this contest on your Facebook page; to register this entry, please post a link to your Facebook page in a comment here.
  • If you have your own blog, you can earn yet another entry by sharing this contest on your blog; to register this entry, please post a link to your blog post in a comment here.
I will randomly select a winner the day after Thanksgiving - November 26th - and will mail this bundle of chocolatey goodness to the winner in plenty of time to enjoy during the holiday season (or gift away, if you have the willpower).

  1. I don't have a favorite fair trade chocolate, because it is really hard to find in my area. :( I love you started this new blog, though! We are able to get fair trade coffee, but I wish I could find good fair trade chocolate.

  8. I love Divine chocolate. Love the packaging and the Adinkra symbols and the fact that it's owned by the farmers.

I also like Endangered Species chocolate, mostly for the animal facts on the inside and the beautiful animal photos on the front.

Also liked your facebook page AND shared the link. (http://www.facebook.com/pages/A-Gentler-World-A-Fair-Trade-Advocacy-Blog/163486820340446?v=wall#!/permalink.php?story_fbid=106405206094217&id=160100268)

One more tidbit... I have a passion for both fair trade and chocolate and I'm trying to make it a career!

  27. I don't have a favorite yet, as it is not so easy to find fair trade chocolate where I live, and when I do find it, it is always quite expensive. I have seen Green & Black's though and have always wanted to try.

  41. Well, I already commented elsewhere about G&B, and that was my first thought for commenting. Otherwise I would say that one of my favorites is the Endangered Species Bar. I like that they use beet sugar (and I believe it's unfiltered). My favorite is the Wolf Bar. The Sjaaks brand is SUPER yummy, but I wish I felt like the sweetener was more healthy.

  42. Equal Exchange Organic Dark Chocolate with Almonds bar is my fave

    ReplyDelete
  43. The only one of these bars I've tried is the one with chili in it. It sounded like such an unlikely combination that I had to try it. It might have been unlikely, but it was an amazingly good combination. I'd really like to try the other flavors, too.

  46. Entry 1: My favorite fair trade chocolate is the Trader Joe's Swiss Dark Chocolate. I also really like the Chocolove certified organic 73% cocoa (http://www.chocolove.com/organic73.htm), but they aren't fair trade, though they seem to have a legitimate explanation: http://www.chocolove.com/faq_child_labor.htm. Your thoughts?
